Kem Kubang

1440hrs we arrived at Kem Kubang 1406m high. Meow and I were the last team to arrive. Sweaty and tired we quickly set up our tent as rain promised to come.

Once we cleaned our camp site we set up our tent as quickly as we can and put away our backpack so that we can go wash up as well as bring back water for cooking.
The water source at this camp site is more like an underground stream where water is channelled through a pvc pipe done by the guides. It is about 5mins from the camp site. As there was no flowing river we both had to shower ala dry cleaning. My bandana came in handy here as the puddle was rather shallow. We both had a quick wipe and started collecting water.
Someone even brought keropok and papadam for tea time. Fresh from the boiling hot oil. Meow and I don;t have any fresh foods. We only brought along processed and fast food. So the smell of freshly fried keropok was a tempting sight and odour.
Cook Meow cooking rice for dinner. We had our dinner at about 1900hrs. Once we finished our dinner we went to bed. I slept at about 2100hrs which is early for my KL standards. There are no mamaks here for distraction. The jungle gets darker earlier too. So we slept. Kem Kubang is a colder campsite being 1406m high. I slipped into my sleeping bag and before long was fast asleep.
Sleeping early made me wake up at 0300hrs and after that i just could not get back to a peaceful slumber. It was a long nite...
