Food..Glorious Food
Food...has been our greatest and biggest headache in planning for Tahan. Too much or too little could mean a lot when you are carrying 8 days of food on your shoulders.
There are snacks and there are snacks...Snicker bars, Cadbury, M&Ms and whole shit load of biscuits and of course a couple of muesli bars. Milo, Nescafe, Nestum, Campbell soup even just to keep a cold night warm and a wake up call in the misty morning.
Brahims minute rice packs, 2 minute Maggi, Rendang, Serunding, Pita and Serunding to pack on the carbs for the long haul. Dried Siamese mangoes, Ipoh guava and California raisins just for variety, energy and something to nibble.
80% of our backpack is food packed, the rest of it is taken up by clothes...very few, tent, sleeping bag, floor sheet and cooking gas. Cameras to record our expedition and batteries to light up whatever.
Are we ready? Only time will tell as Tarzan and I are first timers in this our very first trek and camp expedition and we chose the mother of all challenges to do it. We must be crazy most would think. I am Hailam...Tarzan must be just a siau lang as a friend affectionately calls him.
Wish us luck and pray that we bring back great photos to the blog and as for experience...we will experience what we experience. Woohoo....
