A day of Firsts'

April 5th is a day of many 'firsts' for Meow and I. It's the first time we are camping out in the jungle for 7 nights. First in trekking with a backpack (approx 18kgs of it...mostly food) on our backs.

Our first drink of fresh mountain spring water...minerals and all. Bacteria included. Our first camp site...Kem Kor which we finally arrived at 1620hrs situated just next to a clear cool stream. So clear that you can see the fish swimming in it.
We had our first bath here and also water for cooking and washing.
Our very first dinner of rice and Brahim's instant beef & chicken rendang which was very tasty after 4 and a half hours of trekking. Very satisfying indeed. Rice was not instant though. We had to cook it...never bothered with washing it as we normally do at home. We just poured in water and boiled.

Waking up on the morning of the 6th at 750m in our economy size "room". Another day awaits us. Another camp site to head for. Another couple more meters to trek...couple of hundred more. A long day ahead.

vegie-when the mist falls on Kubang & Belumut it is more like Lothlorien

dreamie-it doesn't get lighter by the day but after a while it bag & carrier become one. No feel.
