Down & Out at the Bonsai

By 1520hrs we arrived at the Bonsai 1705m. This place is known as the Bonsai because the trees here look gnarled and dwarfish. The terrain is rocky and dry. The air.... cool and the sun...blazing.

Tired and exhausted and not to mention hungry too...i needed a break. Didn't have any Kit Kat so i had to settle for my Pita and peanut butter jam. At this time i was not about to bring out our gas stove and cook. It had to be lunch on the go and it had to be easy and quick. There's still a long way to go. Breakfast was 6 hours ago and all that breakfast has long been burned. I needed to replenish my energy and so did meow but he eats little. A rice person...it was not easy for him to just dig out a Pita and eat. Me...I didn't care i needed to sink my teeth into something solid and energy giving.
The plants here are about waist high only. At this altitude and with the strong winds most things grow low to the ground and grow deep too so as not to be blown away. How do i know? "Elementary dear Watson...elementary."
When trekking in high country, when one sees the peak of a trail one is trekking...just know that when one reaches the top...it is just the beginning of another peak. In short, it ain't over till the fat lady sings!
The trail goes on forever today. The sun is blazing...that's how we got our sunburns. No trees to hide under. No canopy to shade us. We can't wait to get to the camp site. I can't wait to just drop on the ground and lay down. Just a little bit more...just a little bit...
