Gunung Tahan

April 8th, 2007...1115hrs we peaked at Gunung Tahan 2187m.

Finally we have arrived at the peak of the mountain that we set out to conquer and we made it alive! Puffing away we made it to the peak. All backpacks were off and the cameras came out to record our conquest. The water bottles came out too to quench the parched lips and dry throats as we set ourselves down to take in the moment as well as catch a breather.

Look closely to the left of my size 8.5 Timberland boots and you will see an indentation of a "big foot" said to be that of Sang Kelembai a mythical figure. The right foot print is here in Gunung Tahan and the left foot print is supposedly in Gunung Korbu in Cameron Highlands. Fact or fiction? Who knows? There's mention of it in wikipedia though...check it out. Meow aka Tarzan is elated at reaching the peak.
