The Kaleebso

The Kaleebso is a pleasure boat for divers, fishing enthusiast as well as for those adventurous enough to take on sea legs for a couple of days and more so for those who are tired of holidays on land and want to try something different.

Pull on your eye-patch and be a pirates mate for the week. You gotta have a good pair of sea legs or you might just buckle over and of course worst would be if you get sea-sick and hurl all over. Well you don't really need a stomach made of steel cos there are pills you can pop to keep your stomach in.

Imagine doing nothing but eat, sleep, tan, dive, fish, snorkel or just go skinny dipping in the deep blue sea...in our beautiful South China sea. Just the sun and sea for company.

That's the life.

A Dream

Like a dream she rocks on the waves, bobbing up and down. I was trying to hold down my breakfast lunch and dinner. It's been awhile since i went out to sea. Now it was to live on board for the next 2 nights. I have lived in the jungles of our Peninsula for 6 nights, lived on a kelong in the Malacca Straits for 10 days and now I am about to live on board the Kaleebso (which i have heard nothing but good things from Joey since she lived on board it in Aug last year). Another new experience to notch on my life post. Another adventure to add to my list of adventures.

I feel my stomach churning...

Light at the End

This was the weekend right after we moved into our new place. Everything was still in a mess back home but we had pre-booked a date with The Kaleebso.

I was torn about going as there was just so much to do at home and yet here we were on the road driving 300 odd km through palm plantations and dark winding roads to Penyabong Jetty in Mersing. After driving about 4 hours plus we arrived at a dark and quiet little village at the edge of Mersing. I finally stepped out of the car to stretch my sore legs and numb bum. The familiar smell of the sea filled my lungs as i took a deep breath and stretched my limbs. In the distant i hear the yelling and cheering of the village people in a shack built to house a stall. There were a couple of people surrounding a 20inch television cheering on their favorite teams as Brasil & Nederlands play for a place in the last 8. I arrived to see Sneijder head in the winning goal in the closing minutes of the game. The World Cup infects all of us, near and far.
As the rest of the divers arrived at the jetty and were ready to board that i felt that this was perhaps the right thing to do even though there was much to be done at home. I never realised how stressed out i was in the moving and needed this break till i got on board the fishing trawler.

I took another deep breath as the salty sea air blew in my face as we sailed out to the awaiting Kaleebso.
