Tree Planting at Bukit Tagar
Muddied and sweaty from the sweltering heat of a mid March afternoon sun and standing knee deep in brackish water in a middle of a peat swamp is my kinda high. Many say I am in my element and from the smile on my face i can attest to that. I was part of a tree planting contingent organised by Eco Warriors to replant our depleting forest and in this case replanting a forest reserve specifically the Raja Musa Forest Reserve in Batang Berjuntai. It is depleted because it was illegally cleared for a plantation.
"Alamak! How can this happen?" you say. Well... some pegawai was blind to the clearing that took place i suppose. This happens throughout our jungles apparently. All you need do is lift your head up towards the hills or mountains and you will notice tracs of forest being cleared away. Somehow the pegawais can't see this. Strange isn't it?
Well i am glad i am joining this band of people called Eco Warriors to replant trees for our future generation and also to give mother earth a fighting chance...for US.
