Lighting Up for Lost Ones

As the sun sets, Thais young and old together with the tourists lit up the beach and as the candles lit up prayers were muttered as families of lost ones and bystanders alike quipped a prayer to the deceased.
It was a solemn sight as the beach was almost silent as people went about lighting their candles and holding hands.

A sand monument to the lost...

A message of love...

A family mourning and remembering a lost one perhaps...
A couple lighting up a "hung meng tang" remembering loved ones and sending of blessings...
4 years ago i was at the Buddhist Vihara in Brickfields with many caring Malaysians loading up containers of food, clothes and medication for all the affected areas. It was heartwarming to see so many Malaysians coming together giving food, money, supplies and giving of themselves to assist our neighbours in need. It was the one time i experienced giving at such magnitude.
It was a moment when the world got together for a common cause.
