Sound of Silence

Just today someone asked me, " Why do i sometimes feel lonely, sad and empty? I do enjoy being single but..."

That's it isn't it? We are all capable of being alone and single, enjoying our freedom never care less about where or when we wanna go out or come back. We are FREE. Free from having to "report" to someone, be accountable for that matter. So what could be so terrifying than that? Until we come home to our four walls.

There will come the time when out of the blue...as we are enjoying all this carefree moments, days, weeks on ends of freedom. It strikes! Deep within the deepest darkest corners of our FREEDOM intoxicated mind..we smell FEAR!

Fear of being lonely. It comes unannounced. Unsuspectingly it creeps into our lives and loud as thunder... SILENCE! The silence of being alone. It can be quite deafening. So loud you can hear LONELINESS a mile away. Hence we find ourselves engrossed in the things we do to fill out that oh so loud Sound of Silence.

Even the cricket does not travel alone, further up the stalk of this "god-knows-what" plant is his companion just waiting for him...to share their Sound of Silence TOGETHER.
