Dancing with Whale Shark
Life goes on immaterial of what transpires in it. Life does not care or bother if you are doing it right or wrong, life just flows. We...i believe we are meant to swim in it an experience it.
Just like my Pulau Tenggol experience in Sept. Joey and i jumped at the opportunity to head for the East Coast upon hearing from my Divemaster Lynn that whale sharks have been spotted there. Without much thought we applied our leave and away we went, excited at the prospect of seeing a whale shark... Live! We drove in the middle of the night to Terengganu so as not to miss the boat to Pulau Tenggol. When we got onto the island the whole entourage was eager to jump in and catch a glimse of the big mother. On our very first dive we spotted the huge mother of a fish. I being a newbie to the underwater world was struggling most of the time with breathing compressed air and was fortunate catch a glimpse of the tail end of the of the magnificent lady, but like life it wasn't gonna wait for me and before you know it, it was gone.
It was only on my 4th dive that i managed to see the graceful whale shark swimming right in front of me, oblivious to the many thrashing legs in the choppy waters of Tenggol Island, like life it passed us by, oblivious to the thrashing legs and muffled screams of divers and snorklers alike. Thank god that she only feeds on planktons and not nosy, screaming humans. It was an awesome experience for me. I gaped in awe at this huge creature of god swimming ever so gracefully albeit it's size.
Video is courtesy of Joey who was committed to shoot this awesome creature by hook or by crook and by George she did it!
