Kota Belud

Dec 23rd at 1430hrs i finally set eyes on the town of Kota Belud.

A very prominant & colorful welcome "island" that stands out amidst the hustle and bustle of the town greets it's many visitors. It may be a small town but it is pretty busy in the day with a neverending flow of cars & pick-ups rushing about.

There's the one mosque that serve's the Bajau community which is mainly muslim & other muslim's of course. Then there is this Gui Brothers that just happens to be around every corner. They seem to be the kedai runcit, hypermarket, mini market & wholesale.

KB Traveller's lodge, my accommodation for the weekend. Still new so it's rather clean. I had an extra bed and no one to sleep in it. Darn. It was 85 a nite. Night time in town...advisable to stay indoors. Does not look safe furthermore there is no activity at nite in town.

Perhaps that explains the Big families. Not my choice place to stay but not many choices here. Two other available place is the KB Resthouse which was at 120 per nite and YB's place, that's my sumandak's brother's house. Being my first time visit to the family it would be rather rude to impose.

So KB town i stayed accompanied by a 2 channel TV offering the best of RTM1 & 2.
