The Wishing Tree

Kek Lok Si is a fairyland during the 15 days of CNY. Everything you can put a bulb on is lit. It her is so bright you can see it from far far away.

Like insects we humans are attracted to all that light too making the way to the hilltop bumper to bumper. We cina come here to pray and ask for a year of blessings and there are those of us who are here to give thanks for past years blessings. Mom of cos is asking for her other 2 sons to be blessed with good wives...within this century, good health and prosperity for all her children.

Beautiful lanterns with blessing written on them. Don't ask me what it says...i'm illiterate when it comes to mandarin.

This trip is especially special for mom as The Goddess of Mercy has a special place in mom's heart and prayers. She has been with mom for a long long time. This statue of the Goddess is 120m high. Mom laying a tile for roof of the temple. The visit here was more to mom than all the food you can eat on the island.

One of the temple entrances filled with blessed lanterns.

The four of us plus the cameraman braved our way up the jammed lanes of the hill right after our annual barbeque trip to the bosses house.
