Life's Simple Pleasures

Kids enjoying the simple pleasures of life...playing in the rain.

There was a time not that long ago when my brothers, a couple of our friends and i would be frolicking in the mud puddles of our local padang. All we had were our shorts a football and a whole lot of enthusiasm and of course the rain. The pitch would just be nicely soggy and bloody slippery. At the end of it all we would be filthy to right down to our crocodiles ...we wore crocodile underpants then, cold to the bone and happy as hell.

Kids nowadays are spoiled rotten. They want Ultraman, Kamen Rider Seal, Transformers and Game Boy, blowing a hole in their parents pockets. During our time we were the Ultraman, Astro Boy and Giant Robot and Batman, Superman and you name it...we would transform. Give us a cardboard box and we have a tank or Batmobile, tear it up and we have a sled.

There is yet hope in My Little Maharaja if only his parents would let him get dirty...just a bit. A bit of mud in his pants ain't gonna hurt his kuku folks.
