The Orange One

This beautiful Orange One got attached to me when i was trekking in FRIM last week.

I'm attracting butterflies now. How very interesting. She was just being intimate i guess. Flitting about on the forest floor and decided to perch on my hand perhaps to greet me...just to say hello or was it good morning...the language was ancient but the message nonetheless clear. The innocence of the ancients are so pure...perhaps this Orange One chose to trust and create intimacy with me. Man have been know to smack them or chloroform them and place them in glass cases. Her choice takes courage and a lots of risk.

She chose to trust and risk with me... I chose to love, respect and appreciate her.

Spread Em'

There's more than meets the eye. Often we only get to see and experience a person externally and superficially accessorised by Nike, Gucci, Giogio Armani, pasar malam fashion and what have yous'. Basically we judge a person as we judge a book by it's cover.
Oft times we don't get to see and experience till we get intimately closer, till the person opens up and shows off their true colors. There's nothing more beautiful than when You spread Your wings and let others in to all that beauty that is You.

So spread em' baby!

My Mobile Bitch

Lately i have been contributing tremendously towards Maxis' coffers and i do wish Maxis' coverage is a little better than it promises...especially in my office.

On my weekly treks in FRIM service is still pretty cool but when it comes to my office it SUCKS! Puta Madre! Pisses me off especially when a call comes in and the line breaks, cracks and what ever else it does. I can curse and swear till the plaster falls off my office ceiling and still i can't get shit. So when i'm at the office i divert my calls and i gotta pay for people calling me. Chibai! The techs say nothing can be done.

I bet you a certain Yellow Man might beg to differ!

Mr. Engelbert

He started the nite with...You are the sunshine of my Life, and the rest was a belting of his hits such as Release Me, Last Waltz, Quando Quando Quando...and many more. 40 years on and he still mesmerizes the crowd and his fans.
Mr Engelbert mesmerised mother, mom and weni. In fact i was just as enthralled. He had us all singing with him and all the "oldies" in the house sang along...as if they were his back-up singers.
He is quite the entertainer too at 71.
When the Last Waltz came on, it made the hair on my neck stand. It brought me many many years back to a certain house on Harrison Street where i used to hear this song playing on the radio. I looked over to the left at my two mums and they were both singing along. It brought tears to my eyes.

Mr Engelbert...thank you for an unforgetable night.

Kopi & Babi

Kopi & Babi...food of the facees'. Oh woe is us, who miss the 2nd weekends at Gentings. Apart from collecting LP tees as price for facillitating the ropes course...this is what we really come for. This dish is served at a certain corner restaurant at Gohtong Jaya.
It is also the favourite of many a trekkers...our group basically, to the now "closed to public" Gunung Bunga Buah.

This is the power kopi that keeps us going on and on and on...definately kau stuff. Once a month an indulgence in such sinful food is recommended. Keeps us grounded to heaven and earth.

Touch-Me-Not

Last week i introduced Jesse to the fascinating world of the "Touch-Me-Nots", the very interesting Mimosa plant. He did not go...whack whack whack...just gentle prods to the ticklish plant and watch it close it's leaves.
In case you were wondering and if you have not seen or had the opportunity to prod one...this is what it looks like. Be gentle it does not bite. It does have thorns though so don't be a prick and pull it, it might prick you.

It's My Coke!

" Touch my Coke and i'll peck your eyes out!"

Intimate Moments

Sharing a meal with family can be rather intimate. Dining together may not necessarily be intimate unless we want it to be. There are people who eat together and yet know nothing of each other or do they care to find out. I am blessed to have a family that when we eat together, shares this one special moment intimately. We don't get to do it everyday but i am glad that at least we do so weekly. We are about as noisy as the birds above and we are definately intimate with each other.

Beauty

Beauty is when one is fully expressed. Mediocrity or excellence...begins with one's choice.

Jesse & The Birds

Last week was the school holidays and mother was down from Taiping for a visit. Since she landed she has been to the shopping malls and shopping malls and shopping malls. So when i had the day off on Monday i suggested the Orchid Gardens as they are her new love but somehow we ended up in the Bird Park.

It was her first time and it was also the first time for Jesse. He has a fascination for birds too...the feathered kind for now i'm sure. With our family genes...it will be a different kind of bird when he reaches his teens. :)

Teasing the chicks and checkin out some birds with mama.

A budding cameraman and seeing a peacock live for the first time.

We spent about 2 and a half hours at the park and ended with ice cream.

Brand New Day

A brand new day, a brand new moment. Gone is yesterday and wasteful it is to dwell on what we didn't get done, missed opportunities and all that. Today is the present. It is truly a Present, a Gift from God. Waste it not. What are we, am I committed to creating?

Go ye forth and Create!

Old Friends

It's wonderful when old friends meet. We get to catch up on each others lives and share each others ups and downs.

I met these bunch of people some 8 years ago and we were a part of a bigger team called LP16. We don't meet very often but we do make it a point to meet up at least once a year. We keep in touch and some of us, like Kit and I, meet almost weekly for a trek and a hefty breakfast. Babe's always busy as a bee directing movies and sit coms and documentaries not in that order but she is just all over head in work. Esther...MBA mama is a mother of 3 now and still as gorgeous and sexy as when we first met. Sam...same old same old just getting older. Kit...busy running his architech firm creating beauty for his clients and running after little Jensen and my buddy Yook Foong...Gucci, YSL, LV you name she loves it, but that has all taken a back seat for her beloved Kit chai whom she is bringing to Beijing for treatment. She is gonna be there for the whole month with him. Once a fashion-chasing woman now a strong, loving, devoted and beautiful mummy.

Wai Kit we wish you a speedy recovery and lotsa love!

Gasing Awakens

Like a lollipop this young shoot of a fern begins to uncurl itself it the morning light. Like all it's neighbours it awakens that saturday morning to greet a new friend to Gasing.
Aug 11, 2007 is the first trek for my friend Grace who is looking to have a new experience and i, an ever willing partner to the wilderness, am her guide.
There will be only pretty pictures of the plants that greet her and i but none of her as she is camera shy this particular morning.
More ferns unfurling themselves, some hairier than others.
A virgin white fungi growing off a fallen log.
Perhaps Grace shall allow me a shot of her the next time she treks. Make a wish!

Snail's Pace

Once in awhile it is refreshing to take things a little slower. Slow down the pace and smell the roses so to speak. We might even realise things about ourselves, even see ourselves...for the "first time".

Light at the End...

Many a times we walk thru darkness and troubled times and when we feel the strongest urge to give up and let go of all that is precious...just STOP. Take a breather, say a prayer perhaps, take another deep breath...think of what matters and focus on what we are committed to and trek on. The road maybe long and hard but there is Light at the end of the tunnel.

LP16YO!

It was 9 years ago that i began on a journey of discovery about me! Someone made a stand for me to look at "What's Next?" in my life.
32 years of my life had gone on by then and I had a pretty okay and normal life i guess. I had adapted and learned my survival skills to deal with this concrete jungle and the surrounding dog-eat-dog world well. I guess i was doing alright. I was running fully automatic. It was easy...get up at 0700hrs. Work starts at 0830hrs. Lunch at 1300hrs and by 1800hrs i was home. Catch a half hour nap and watch the 1900hrs TVB serial on TV2. Break at 2000hrs, take a bath and have my dinner. By 2100hrs it was back to the idiot box till midnight. Nights out till 0700hrs the next morning and the routine continues. Day in day out...fully automatic.
Aug 1998 i took a look at "What's Next?" and realised that there is an adventure waiting ahead, for me to discover and explore. Since that day i made a choice to stand for people looking at "What Next?" for themselves. To all the people whose life i have touched just know that this was made possible cos my brother James made a stand for me and said, "If i don't see you by 8, you are no longer my brother!" and he hung up!
My question to you then is..."WHAT'S NEXT?"

A Good Pig

Since we are on the topic of pigs...i still think and i am sure many do too, that a good pig is one served in these little bowls, claypots or what nots. These morsels of flesh and spare parts are courtesy of a restaurant in Klang town called Restoran Chow Kiap...err Kiat. The best in Klang? I wouldn't know and i don't really care...all i know it is good enough to eat and it's making me hungry. Tiew...that's cantonese for not getting your Pig!

The Pig Squeels

eee....eee...squeels the pig! This may not be a bust of a pig in fact it is the emblem of the Dutch Company VOC carved out of coral stone...but when a pig squeels it would look pretty much the same.

Since the wedding blogs many have had the pig squeeling for mercy...mercilessly. This little pig had to go to the market and expose itself. Dressed in pink and standing on the pedestal naked as a jaybird..."eee...eee...feed me feed me" he squeeled and so they did. The pig has quite an appetite as we all know so it will take some feeding before it shuts up and goes to bed and dream up something else. So the feeding must go on and shut the pig i will.

eee...eee
